Comparing route software prices is harder than it should be. Vendors charge by different units, and about half of the 17 we looked at in November 2026 don't publish a price at all. Here's how the models work and what the published numbers come to.
The models, with published examples
| Charged by | Published example | 10 trucks, 10 drivers, 3 office users, per month |
|---|---|---|
| Per driver | $35.10 to $44.10 per driver a month, billed annually | $351 to $441 |
| Per user | $50 to $89 per user a month | $650 to $1,157 |
| Per user, fuller system | $129 per user a month, five-user minimum | $1,677 |
| Per vehicle | From $54 per vehicle a month | From $540 |
| Per stop or task | $125 a month for 1,000 stops; $619 a month for 2,500 tasks | Depends on your stops |
| Flat plus accounts | $100 a month plus $1 per account | Depends on your accounts |
Prices read from each vendor's own pricing page in November 2026. The third column is our own math on those prices, counting all 13 people as users where the price is per user. Prices change, and these products do very different amounts of work, so check before you decide.
What the unit does to your bill
Per user charges you for your office. Add a dispatcher or a bookkeeper and the bill goes up, even though you haven't added a truck. Some reviewers of per-license software complain about exactly this.
Per driver is easy to count, but check whether office logins cost extra, and what happens with part-time and spare drivers.
Per vehicle follows the thing that makes you money. It goes up when you add a truck, which is when you can afford it.
Per stop looks cheap until your busy season.
Compare what you get, too
The lowest number on the list is a planner app, and it's a good one if a route is all you need. Before you compare the bill, list what you'd still have to pay for somewhere else: inventory, invoicing, a phone system, maintenance tracking. Also ask about setup, data import, training and whether features move to a higher tier later.
